Block Parties

Neighbors on several streets throughout the neighborhood have formed block groups to celebrate National Night Out, 4th of July, Halloween, or for just plain fun.

Some neighbors have their own email chains for alerts, sharing upcoming events, and of course for invitations to pot-luck dinners and gatherings.

4th of July Parade

The annual 4th of July Parade is a major celebration in this neighborhood. Families, groups, Scout Troops, as well as people on decorated bikes and golf carts all join in the parade. The route starts at the Spicewood BCC Club House. A local fire truck leads the parade, and afterwards everyone stays for refreshments, music, raffles, and lots of fun. There are many opportunities for volunteers.

Christmas Trees & Holiday Lights

Since the 1980s, this neighborhood has been known for its Christmas trees lining the streets and outstanding Holiday Lights. The HOA arranges deliveries of fresh Christmas Trees, for purchase by residents.

Each year, 3 homes from the Spicewood section and 3 from Balcones Village are selected as winners of the best decorations. Judging is done by volunteers, and many make it a family event.
