10th Annual July 4th Parade
Your HOA is very excited to be sponsoring the Annual July 4th Parade again this year! It's a tradition that started in 2011 and it's open to all Balcones Village/Spicewood neighbors, whether or not you're an HOA member. This is a neighborhood-wide event for all our kids and kids-at-heart. We'll have special guests, beads, music, prizes, and free treats after the parade.
Even if you don't wish to be part of the parade, come out and cheer on your neighbors as they bring old-fashioned fun to the day.
Rain or shine, the Parade will step off at 10 am on Sunday, July 4 from the Spicewood Clubhouse (11210 Spicewood Club Drive), continue south on Spicewood Club, and return on Plumewood. Participants have the option to turn on Banditti or Malinda if they wish to take a shortcut. There is a map of the neighborhood at http://www.bvshoa.com/bvs-area-map.html.
Traffic note: Drivers passing through...please avoid the streets on the parade route if possible.
Things to know:
By 9:45 AM: Participants line up on the west side of Spicewood Club Drive by the condos. Bicycles should be in the first group, followed by walkers and little kids on scooters. The golf carts will provide the grand finale!
10:00 AM: Parade heads south on Spicewood Club to Marseilles. (Route is approximately 1.3 miles.)
No need to pre-register. Just come prepared for fun!
Please bring plenty of water. It will be hot and we want everyone to stay healthy and hydrated. The HOA will not have water available and the clubhouse will be closed.
Please park cars on the east side of Spicewood Club or on Mandeville Drive. Parking is limited. (Parking in the clubhouse lot is limited to volunteers helping set up for the parade.) Please DO NOT park in the tennis court lots.
All dogs should be on short leads. Please no extendable leashes.
All bikes, strollers, walkers, and golf carts should stay behind the lead vehicles. Kids’ electric cars are discouraged as traffic is erratic and young drivers are easily distracted.
The usual traffic rules for golf carts apply. Golf cart drivers must have a valid driver license.
Door prize winners will be announced after the parade. Must be present to win.
Best Decorated Golf Cart wins an H-E-B card.
If you need inspiration, go to http://www.bvshoa.com for photos and a video from the 2019 parade.
Great fun for the whole family...come out and join your neighbors in this special tradition!
